GSR Microarrays Computer Resources Signup

GSR Microarrays has two scanners. At least one of them is in use until 2pm every day. The second may be free earlier, but is always free after 2pm. Please schedule your scanning appointments in the afternoon to avoid potential scheduling conflicts.

GSR Microarrays has one calendar for scheduling workstation (analysis software) and scanner use. One hour appointments are preferred. If you sign up for more than one hour, you may be asked to return at the end of the day if others are waiting.

To schedule a time, click on the plus sign (+) on the date you wish to sign up for.
When the event scheduler form appears, enter your name, five digit extension, type of appointment, and time (12-1pm) in the "Brief Description" section. For example, "Scan" or "GeneSpring" could be used to denote your intended use and workstation.
You must sign up 24 hours in advance in order to guarantee the appointment time. If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please call us (6-3001 on campus) to let us know that the time slot will be available.

If you need help using software, you need to schedule a meeting with GSR Microarrays support staff in advance. In-depth demonstration of the use of the scanner and scanning software is only available while a GSR Microarrays staff member is scanning slides. This usually occurs at least 2 to 3 mornings every week; please call GSR Microarrays to find out when the next scanning will take place. If you are a new user who wants to scan slides, you MUST attend one of these scanning sessions before being allowed to scan on your own.
